YORKSHIRE POETRY PAGE

This section is in development and originates from poetry gatherings as part of Ilkley Literature Festival.

Several excellent Yorkshire poets - Bruce Barnes, SItara Khan, Mary Dale and the hilarious Great Butoni (to name but a few) performed as part of National Poetry Day celebrations.

Many were inspired by the Yorkshire region, whether born and bred here or settlers from abroad, or visitors passing through.

Following in the footsteps of illustrious poets from the county (from the Brontes to Ted Hughes) and present day examples (such as Tony Harrison, Ian MacMillan and Rommi Smith) local poets plan to showcase their own work here - but without a clog or flat cap in sight.
